Dr. Hernando Yepes Arcila serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA. Previously, he acted as Independent Member of the Company's Board since March 29, 2007, until October 25, 2012. He also serves as a Member of the Compensation and Development and the Finance and Audit Committees of the Company. He was General Secretary of Universidad de Caldas from 1965 to 1968; General Secretary of the Governance of department of Caldas from 1971 to 1972, and Manager of the Central Hydroelectric Caldas from 1983 to 1986. He has also been a magistrate with the Constitutional Division of the Colombian Supreme Court of Justice, a magistrate with the Administrative Division of the Supreme Judiciary Council, Delegate Member of the National Constituent Assembly of 1991 from 1990, Chief Legal Officer of the Federacion Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia (the Colombian Federation of Coffee-Growers) from 1996 to 1998 and the Colombian Minister of Labour and Social Security from 1998 to 1999. He is currently Head of the Department of Public Law and a teacher at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana; Associate Judge of the State Council, Arbiter with the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation attached to the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, as well as an attorney-at-law. He holds a degree in Law from Universidad de Caldas.
