Brief Biography
Mr. Eric Schmidt has served as Chief Executive Officer of Google Inc. since July 2001 and served as Chairman of Board of Directors of Google Inc. from March 2001 to April 2004 and again from April 2007 to the present. In April 2004, Eric was named Chairman of the Executive Committee of the board of directors. Prior to joining the company, from April 1997 to November 2001, Eric served as Chairman of the board of Novell, a computer networking company, and, from April 1997 to July 2001, as the Chief Executive Officer of Novell. From 1983 until March 1997, Eric held various positions at Sun Microsystems, a supplier of network computing solutions, including Chief Technology Officer from February 1994 to March 1997 and President of Sun Technology Enterprises from February 1991 until February 1994. Eric is also a Director of Apple Inc., an electronic device company. Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a Masters degree and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
