Thomas L. Flynn is Vice Chairman of the Board (2003-present) of Heartland. He obtained a BA degree in accounting and finance from Loras College and an MBA Degree from the University of Dubuque. Mr. Flynn was elected to the Iowa State Senate in 1994, where he served two full terms. During his terms he served on various committees, including the Senate Appropriations Committee; Administration and Regulation Budget Subcommittee; Commerce, Ways and Means Committee; and the Small Business, Economic Development & Tourism Committee. Mr. Flynn is the owner of a concrete and construction materials firm with locations in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. He also previously served for ten years as an adjunct faculty member in the business department at Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa.
