Mr. Thomas W. Buchanan is Independent Director of Hawk Exploration Limited. Mr. Buchanan is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Charger Energy Corp., a public oil and gas company listed on the TSXV. From July, 2006 to April, 2010, Mr. Buchanan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Provident Energy Trust, a public Calgary based oil and gas trust listed on the TSX and the New York Stock Exchange. Prior thereto, Mr. Buchanan was the Chief Executive Officer of Provident Energy Trust from March 2001 to June 2006. Mr. Buchanan was a director of Hawk Energy from January 2003 to May 2006. Mr. Buchanan was a director of Hawk Oil from November 1996 to February 2003. Mr. Buchanan is also a director of Emera Inc., Athabasca Oil Sands Corp, Pace Oil & Gas Ltd. and Pembina Pipeline Corporation. Mr. Buchanan obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary in 1979, a Chartered Accountant designation in 1981 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants in 2010. He has been a governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers since April 2001. Since 1998, he has been the volunteer Chairman of Renfrew Educational Services, a Calgary based not for-profit society that operates five schools and provides therapy and education to more than 700 children, primarily with special needs.
