Mr. Rainer Laufs has been Member of the Supervisory Board at Lanxess AG since January 27, 2005. Additionally, he acts as Member of the Audit Committee of the Company. Mr. Laufs has been working as a self-employed consultant since the beginning of 2005. Before that, he was Member of the Executive Board of the Forum fuer Zukunftsenergien e.V. (Forum for Future Energies) in Berlin for two years. He gained his professional experience mainly with the Shell Group, working, among other places, in Great Britain and the Netherlands. In total, he worked for the Group for 30 years, latterly as Chairman of the Board of Management. Currently, he occupies the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board at WCM Beteiligungs- und Grundbesitz AG and Petrotec AG. Furthermore, Mr. Laufs serves as Member of the Supervisory Board at LANXESS Deutschland GmbH. Mr. Laufs trained as a bank clerk before going on to study Business Administration in Cologne, Los Angeles and Boston.
