Dr. Michael J. Chun is Independent Director of Matson Inc. He is president and headmaster of The Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Campus. A 1961 graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Dr. Chun is the schools' tenth president and Headmaster of the Kapalama Campus. He joined the Alexander & Baldwin Board in 1990 and became a board member of Matson, Inc. when the two companies separated in June of 2012. He is also a director of the Bank of Hawaii Corporation (NYSE: BOH). Dr. Chun is an active member in various community and professional organizations. He serves as director of the Bishop Museum, Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, the Metropolitan Board of the YMCA and as trustee of Hawaii Pacific University and board member of the Hawaii Medical Services Association. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a doctorate in environmental health engineering, both from the University of Kansas. He received a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Hawaii.
