Brief Biography
Mr. Filip J.M. Boyen has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. He served as Vice President–Operations of the Company since September 2007. He has been with the company since 1997 and served as general manager in Bora Bora; regional managing director in Peru; and as Vice President for Africa, Australasia and Latin America. He has hotel operating experience in Russia, Indian Ocean, South Africa and Turkey. Mr. Boyen held positions with Marco Polo Hotels, Sun International Hotels and Ramada Renaissance before he joined OEH in 1997. Initially, he served as General Manager of Bora Bora Lagoon Resort until 1999, when he became Managing Director of OEH’s hotel and tourist train operations in Peru. He was appointed Vice President—Hotels, Africa, Australia and South America in September 2005.
