Mr. Larry D. Thompson serves as Executive Vice President - Government Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of PepsiCo Inc. He was formerly PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary, a position he held from November 2004 until May 2011. Prior to rejoining PepsiCo, Mr. Thompson served as the John A. Sibley Chair in Corporate and Business Law at the University of Georgia School of Law from August 2011 until May 2012. He previously served as a Senior Fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. and served as Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice. In 2002, Mr. Thompson was named to lead the Department of Justice’s National Security Coordination Council and was also named by President Bush to head the Corporate Fraud Task Force. In April 2000, he was selected by Congress to chair the bipartisan Judicial Review Commission on Foreign Asset Control. Prior to his government career, Mr. Thompson was a partner in the law firm of King & Spalding, a position he held from 1986 to 2001.
