People: Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (PGS.OL)

Dr. Carol Bell has served as Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since 2009. She is also Member of the Company's Audit Committee. Dr. Bell has over 30 years of experience in the Energy industry, with particular emphasis on Investment and Financing in the Oil and Gas sectors. She is Non-Executive Director of Salamander Energy plc and Member of the Board of Det norske oljeselskap ASA. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Griffiths Energy International Inc and GeoVS Ltd, and Member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Gemini Oil and Gas. She is Member of the Authority that governs the Welsh-language television channel S4C and is chair of the Investment Committee of Girton College, Cambridge University. In the past she held senior positions in Investment Banking, including Managing Director of the Global Oil and Gas Group at Chase Manhattan Bank, Head of the European Equity Research at JPMorgan, and Global Head of its Oil and Gas Equity Research Team. She began her career in Corporate Planning and Development with RT Z Oil and Gas, and later worked at Charterhouse Petroleum plc. Dr. Bell is Honorary Treasurer of the British School in Athens. She was educated as Scientist, earning a Master of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Cambridge University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from the Open University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Archaeology from University College London in 2005.
