People: Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (PGS.OL)

Mr. Harald Norvik has served as Independent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since 2009, and he has been Independent Member of the Company's Board since 2003. He also chairs the Company's Audit Committee. Mr. Norvik is Independent Advisor and Consultant. He serves as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Aschehoug Publishing House, and Member of the Boards of ConocoPhillips Inc, Deep Ocean Holding and Umoe. In the past he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Statoil from 1988 to 1999, and Finance Director and Member of the Executive Board of the Aker Group (from 1981 to 1988). Prior to that, he served as Personal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Norway and as State Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy from 1979 to 1981. He received his Master of Science degree in Business from Norges Handelshoyskole, Bergen - NHH (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration).
