Brief Biography
Joseph C. Guyaux is President of The PNC Financial Services Group. In that role he is responsible for PNC's Regional Community Bank; PNC Advisors, the company's wealth management business; and wholesale banking, which includes the company's leasing, capital markets, middle-market, asset-based lending and real estate finance businesses. He became responsible for PNC's middle market, corporate finance, capital markets, asset-based lending, real estate finance and leasing businesses in 2001 and 2002. PNC has a dominant middle-market presence serving the needs of companies with sales of 20 to $500 million, while corporate finance focuses on companies with greater than $500 million in sales. The asset-based lending business serves clients from across the nation, while the real estate finance business is the second-largest servicer of commercial mortgage-backed securities. The leasing business is one of the largest bank leasing companies in the United States. When appointed president in 2002, Guyaux assumed responsibility for PNC Advisors, one of the largest managers of trust and investment assets in the U.S. With more than 100 offices in 17 states, PNC Advisors offers full-service brokerage through J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, Inc. and PNC Investments, a division of Hilliard Lyons. PNC Advisors also offers services to wealthy families through its investment consulting division Hawthorn. In 1997, he was appointed deputy manager of the Consumer Banking business and later that year he was named chief executive officer of the Regional Community Bank. Guyaux serves on the boards of directors of Duquesne University, Consumer Bankers Association and the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. A graduate of Brown University, Guyaux received his bachelor of science degree in 1972 and earned his master's in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
