Mr. Phillip D. Wright has been appointed as an Independent Director of Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc., effective June 1, 2012. From January 2011 until his retirement in April 2012, Mr. Wright served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for the Williams Companies, one of the energy infrastructure providers in North America. He served as President of Williams’ Gas Pipeline business from January 2005 to January 2011, Chief Operating Officer of Williams Pipeline Partners L.P. from January 2008 to January 2011 and Senior Vice President and Chief Restructuring Officer of Williams from September 2002 to January 2005. Mr. Wright earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1977. Mr. Wright has been a director of Aegion Inc., a global infrastructure protection and rehabilitation company, since 2011 where he serves on its Strategic Planning, Finance and Compensation Committees. Mr. Wright served as chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America in 2008 and has served on the boards of the Association of Oil Pipelines and Southern Gas Association.
