Smt. Nita M. Ambani serves as Director of the Company since June 18, 2014. She was at the forefront of the ecological development of RIL’s Jamnagar refinery site by implementing a biodiversity plan covering 3.2 million trees over 2000 acres. She developed the world-class township in Jamnagar from scratch, setting new standards in quality of life. Smt. Nita Ambani has made significant contribution to Reliance Retail by conceptualizing and guiding its corporate identity development across all formats. Smt. Nita Ambani has led path-breaking initiatives spanning education, health, rural transformation, environmental protection and sports over the past two decades. She has built institutions in fields such as education, sports and healthcare, in India, through Reliance Foundation and Mumbai Indians from scratch. Her leadership of 13 schools in the Reliance fold, including India’s No. 1 international school – Dhirubhai Ambani International School – is a testament to her commitment to excellence in education. These schools provide quality education to more than 15,000 students. Smt. Nita Ambani is the main architect of Mumbai Indians, which won the Champions League in 2013 and 2011 and the IPL in 2013. She is also the guiding spirit behind the Mumbai Indians’ “Education for All” initiative, which has impacted more than 27,000 underprivileged children. In a short span of three years under Smt. Nita Ambani’s leadership, RF has already touched the lives of more than a million people. She has taken RF to greater heights by combining corporate level efficiency and social-sector sensitivity. Just this year, her expansive thinking brought 30,000 underprivileged children to a Mumbai Indians game at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Besides her professional accomplishments and leadership skills, Smt.
