Prof. Dr. Ekkehard D. Schulz has been Member of the Supervisory Board at RWE AG since April 13, 2006. He has served as Chairman of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG, ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG and ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG until January 21, 2011. He is Member of the Board of AXA Konzern AG, Bayer AG and MAN SE. He has been Member of the Executive Committee of the Supervisory Board, since May 1, 2009, and is Member of the Mediation Committee, as well as Audit Committee at the Company. He graduated from Technische Universitaet Clausthal in Metallurgy with degrees of Engineer and Doctorate. From 1967 to 1972 he was Scientific assistant and chief engineer at the institute for general metallurgy and founding at Technische Universitaet Clausthal. Between 1972 and 1984 he worked in various departments of the Thyssen group – with focus on technology. In 1985 he became Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Thyssen Stahl AG, responsible for production. From 1986 he was Member of the Executive Board of Thyssen Stahl AG, responsible for production and in 1988 he started being responsible for entire technology department at Thyssen Stahl AG. In 1991 he became Chairman of the Executive Board of Thyssen Stahl AG, at the same time Member of the Executive Board of Thyssen AG.
