People: Sun American Bancorp (SAMB.PK)

Nelson Famadas, Ph.D. has been Director and Vice Chairman of Sun American Bancorp since May 2002. He also has been a director of Sun American Bank since February 2002. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gables Holding Corporation, a real estate development company, since 1991. He serves on the board of directors of various civic and charitable organizations both in Puerto Rico and Florida. He is also a member of the board of directors of a community-based home healthcare agency, as well as of two non-profit hospitals. He is presently an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University’s School of Business Administration, lecturing in Operations Management.
