Mr. Joseph E. Burns is Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of SCBT Financial Corp., since March 27, 2009. With over 30 years of experience in banking, Joe Burns serves as Chief Risk Officer for SCBT Financial Corporation and South Carolina Bank and Trust. Burns joined SCBT in 2000 as Chief Credit Officer and was named senior executive vice president in October 2007. Burns is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in banking and finance. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. An active member of the community, Burns is a member of the Board of Visitors for Columbia College and a member of the South Carolina Bankers Association Credit Committee.
