Mr. Gilles Colas has been Senior Vice President - Strategic Development, Member of the Management Committee of Cie de Saint-Gobain SA as of September 1, 2011. He previously served as General Delegate to North America, Member of the Management Committee of the Company from January 1, 2009 until August 2011. Prior to that, he served as General Delegate to the Asia-Pacific region, Member of the Management Committee from March 2003 to December 2008. He joined the Company in 1973. He held a variety of management posts within the Company's Flat Glass Division before being appointed General Manager, Saint-Gobain Flat Glass Colombia, in 1980. From 1983 to 1986, Mr. Colas was Vice President, Industrial & Commercial Policy and and then Industrial General Manager for the Flat Glass Division. In 1986, he became President of Vegla (Germany) and Director of Saint-Gobain's Flat Glass business for Germany, Eastern and Northern Europe. Mr. Colas was named Vice President - Corporate Planning, Member of the Management Committee of the Company in 1992. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Colas was President of Building Materials Division, Member of the Management Committee. He was then President of the Abrasives Division, Member of the Management Committee until 2003. Mr. Colas has been Member of the Management Committee of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA since 1992. He has a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (France) and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University (United States).
