Brief Biography
Mr. Peter Loescher is President of the Managing Board and Chief Executive Officer at Siemens AG since July 1, 2007. He studied economics at Vienna University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has an MBA from Vienna University and completed an AMP from Harvard Business School. In 1985, he became a Senior Management Consultant at Kienbaum Consulting Group. From 1988, he held various positions at Hoechst group. In 2000, he became Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Aventis Pharma Ltd., Japan. In 2002, he became President of Amersham Health and a Member of the Board of Directors and then Chief Operating Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors at Amersham plc. In 2004, he joined General Electric Company (GE) as President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences, GE Healthcare, and a Member of the Corporate Executive Council. In 2006, he became President of Global Human Health at Merck & Co., Inc.
