Prof. Dr. Hermann Requardt has been Member of the Managing Board and Chief Executive Officer of Healthcare Sector at Siemens AG since December 2008. Prior to that, he served as Member of the Managing Board and Head of Corporate Technology at the Company from since May 1, 2006. He studied Physics at Technische Universitaet Darmstadt and Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt am Main. In 1979, Prof. Dr. Requardt became an Academic Assistant at Frankfurt University. In 1982, he became a Research Assistant at Deutsche Forschungs- und Versuchsanstalt f. Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., Institute for Aviation Medicine. In 1984, Prof. Dr. Requardt joined Siemens AG, Medical Engineering Group, Sectional Imaging Division, Development for Nuclear Spin Tomography Physics, Imaging Systems and Magnetic Resonance as a Researcher. In 1989, he became Head of Development in the Magnetic Resonance Division. In 1991, Prof. Dr. Requardt became Head of Project Management in the Magnetic Resonance Division. In 1992, he became Head of High-Field Systems Development. In 1993, Prof. Dr. Requardt became Project Head of Pilot Project for Development, Production and Marketing of Surface Coils. In 1995, he became Head of the Magnetic Resonance Division. In January 2001, he became a Member of the Group Executive Management of the Medical Solutions Group. In June 2006, Prof. Dr. Requardt gained an Honorary Professorship at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, in Physics. Currently, he occupies the position of Chairman of the Board at Siemens Japan Holding K.K., Siemens Japan K.K., as well as Siemens SA. Moreover, he serves as Board Member at Software AG.
