People: Societe Generale (SOGN.PA)

Mr. Gianluca Soma has been Deputy Head of the International Retail Banking division, Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Consumer Finance, Head of the Consumer Credit business line and Member of Group Management Committee of Societe Generale since 2012. He was appointed as Head of Societe Generale Consumer Finance and Operational Vehicle Leasing and Fleet Management Business Line in 2010 and was previously Chief Executive Officer of ALD International and a Member of Group Management Committee of the Company since 2008. He started his career in 1984 with Ernst & Young then at Telos. From 1994 to 1997, he was working as Sales Manager and Services of Hyperion Software Group, then he joined GE Capital in 1997. In 1999, he became Chief Executive Officer of Dial Italy (subsidiary of the group Barclays). At the end of 2000, he joined Hertz Lease Italy as Chief Executive Officer. Further to the repurchase of Hertz Lease by the Group Societe Generale in 2002, Mr. Soma was successively Group Regional Director and then Deputy CEO of ALD Automotive Group Automotive until 2008. He was also Chairman of the Italian automobile rental association (ANIASA) from 2005 till 2007. He is a graduate of LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome from Business Administration and holds MBA from the Turin School of Business Administration at Universita degli Studi di Torino (University of Turin).
