People: Medallion Financial Corp (TAXI.O)

Mr. Alvin M. Murstein has served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Medallion Financial Corp. He has served as Chairman of Board of Directors since founding in 1995 and has been Chief Executive Officer since February 1996. Mr. Murstein has also been Chairman of the board of directors and Chief Executive Officer of Medallion Funding LLC, formerly known as Medallion Funding Corp., since its founding in 1979. He also currently serves and has previously served as officer and director of some of other wholly owned subsidiaries. Mr. Murstein received a B.A. and an M.B.A. from New York University and has been an executive in the taxicab industry for over 40 years. Mr. Murstein served on the board of directors of the Strober Organization, Inc., a building supply company, from 1988 to 1997.
