People: Tele Norte Leste Participacoes S.A. (TNE)

Mr. Caio Marcelo De Medeiros Melo has served as Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Tele Norte Leste Participacoes SA since April 25, 2008. He was elected to the Company’s Board of Directors as Nominee of Tele Norte Leste Participacoes SA controlling shareholder, TmarPart. He serves as Head of the Monitoring Department and Portfolio Management (Capital Markets Area) of BNDES, where he has worked since November 2006. Mr. De Medeiros Melo joined BNDES in 1998, where also served as Manager of the Variable Income Area, Manager of the Fixed Income Area, and Head of the Sewage and Transportation Departments. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics form Universidade de Brasilia, and a Masters degree in Economics from Fundacao Getulio Vargas, in 1998.
