Ms. Karin Eastham, CPA, is Independent Director of Trius Therapeutics Inc., since November 2009. From May 2004 to September 2008, she served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, and as a member of the board of trustees of the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, a non-profit corporation engaged in basic biomedical research. From April 1999 to May 2004, Ms. Eastham served as senior vice president, finance, chief financial officer and secretary of Diversa Corporation, a publicly held renewable energy company which was subsequently renamed Verenium Corporation.
