Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 2011. He graduated from Punjab University in 1976. He started his first business at the age of 18, working in several industries before gaining experience in the telecoms sector. He founded Bharti Enterprises where he serves as Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer. He has joint ventures with several global leaders: Singtel, Wal-Mart and Del Monte. He is Member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Trade & Industry and serves on its sub-committee on promoting financial inclusion. In 2007–2008, he served as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry. He was Co-Chairman of the World Economic Forum at Davos in 2007 and is Member of its International Business Council. He was Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank PLC and President of Confederation of Indian Industry. Currently, he serves as Member at Board of SoftBank, Carnegie Endowment, International Telecommunication Union, Harvard University’s Global Advisory Council, Harvard Business School’s Dean’s Advisory Board. He is Commissioner of Broadband Commission at ITU.
