Mr. Wayne R. Moon is Lead Independent Director of Varian, Inc., since 1999. He is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Shield of California (a health care company), a position he held from 1993 to 2000. He was Chairman of the Board of RelayHealth Corporation (a web-based health services company) from 2002 to 2006. Mr. Moon is also a director of IntegraMed America, Inc.
