Brief Biography
Dr. Zhonghan (John) Deng has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Vimicro International Corporation since November 3, 2006. Prior to this position, he has served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer until November 3, 2006. He is Co-Founder of the Company. He was elected as Member of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on March 2008. He also serves as Member of the Board and Member of Audit Committee of Sohu.com Inc. He received numerous awards for his achievements, including the National First Class Award for Science and Technology in 2005. He graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a Doctor in Philosophy title in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, a Master of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Science degree in Physics. He served as Research Scientist for IBM at the T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights in New York, the United States.
