Warnig, Matthias 

Mr. Matthias Arthur Warnig has held the position of Member of the Supervisory Council at Bank VTB PAO (former Bank VTB OAO), since June 28, 2013. He is Member of the Strategy and Corporate Governance Committee of the Bank. From 2007 until June 28, 2013 he was Independent Member of the Bank's Supervisory Council. From 2013 until April 28, 2017, he was Member of the Bank’s Audit Committee. He was previously Chairman of the Audit Committee at the Bank. He is currently the Managing Director of Nord Stream AG (formerly the North European Gas Pipeline Company); Member of the Board of Directors of AK Transneft' PAO; Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at Nk Rosneft' PAO; Member of the Administrative Board, as well as Chairman of United Company RUSAL Plc. Mr. Warnig served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZAO Dresdner Bank from 2005 to 2006. He was Chairman of the Managing Committee of Dresdner Kleinwort for Russia and the CIS from 2004 to 2005, as well as the President of ZAO Dresdner Bank from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, he was Chief Coordinator of the Dresdner Bank Group in Russia from 2000 to 2002. Mr. Warnig was the General Director of the St. Petersburg Branch of BNP-Dresdner Bank (which was later renamed ZAO Dresdner Bank) from 1999 to 2000, after serving as the Deputy Manager of the Moscow Branch of BNP-Dresdner Bank from 1997 to 1999. He was previously an Advisor on CIS states to the Management Board of Dresdner Bank AG, and coordinated the establishment of a subsidiary bank in St. Petersburg - BNP-Dresdner Bank (Russia). From 1981 to 1990, Mr. Warnig served in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Cabinet Council of the German Democratic Republic. He was an Officer with the German Main Intelligence Directorate, from which he retired in 1989 at the rank of Major. Mr. Warnig graduated from the Higher School of Economics (Berlin), (Hochschule fur Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin) in 1981 with a specialization in Economics of the National Economy.
