Dr. Gilbert Wenzel serves as Director of YM Biosciences Inc. since March 2001. Dr. Wenzel is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wenzel Healthcare Services AG, an investment company focused on investing into innovative healthcare delivery models in Europe. He is also the founder of QUISISANA AG, which imports, registers and commercializes generics for private label use by pharmacy chains and insurance companies in Europe. Dr. Wenzel joined Novartis Group, a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, in November 2000 where he served as Head of Strategic Planning and a Member of its Executive Committee until January 2003. Prior to joining Novartis in November 2000, Dr. Wenzel spent 15 years with McKinsey & Co., an international management consulting firm, and was a member of the European Leadership Group of its Pharma/Healthcare Sector and of the European New Venture Initiative. From 1981 to 1985, Dr. Wenzel was at Hoechst AG in Germany and developed global strategies for generics and over-the-counter medicines.
