PFI - Eight bidders for Omani power plants
London, Dec 8 (Project Finance International) - Eight teams bid this morning for the Barqa 3 and Solar 2 independent power projects (IPPs). Each gas fired scheme totals 650MW. The Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) will now prequalify up to five bidders and then open the commercial and technical envelopes in the new year. The bidders can bid for one or both projects.

TOKYO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Japanese trading house Sojitz Corp said on Friday it has signed a strategic partnership with the Russian Grain Union to help expand its sales of Russian wheat throughout Asia.
