Chinese TV makers to buy $5.3 bln of LCDs from Taiwan
TAIPEI, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Nine major Chinese TV makers have signed an agreement with Taiwan's AU , Chi Mei and Chunghwa Picture Tubes to buy $5.3 billion worth of panels from the island's three major LCD makers. The amount was larger than $4.4 billion of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) Chinese TV makers bought from Taiwan last year, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council said in a statement on Wednesday.
