Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec gain 2.9 percent, making them one of the stronger performers among German tech stocks , after Cheuvreux lifts its stance on the biotech stock to "outperform" from "underperform" and raises its price target to 11.2 euros per share from 9.5 euros.

Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec add 6.1 percent, making them the top gainers among German tech stocks , after the company releases 2009 targets and confirms that its chief executive Michael Kaschke will remain at the helm of the optics specialist. Kaschke says Carl Zeiss will continue to grow while keeping the profitability stable and increasing it in the medium term. Carl Zeiss anticipates a revenue growth of at least 5 percent in 2009.
