Clariant to buy Gulf of Mexico assets from Ecolab
ZURICH, April 15 - Swiss chemicals firm Clariant has signed a deal with Ecolab Inc to buy some of its deep water assets in the Gulf of Mexico but is not disclosing financial details.

WASHINGTON, April 8 - The U.S. Justice Department said on Monday it had reached a settlement with chemical companies Ecolab Inc and the privately held Permian Mud Service Inc, allowing their proposed merger to move forward without one of Permian's subsidiaries.

TEXT - S&P rates Ecolab's proposed notes 'BBB+'
Dec 10 - Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it assigned its 'BBB+' rating to Ecolab Inc.'s proposed offering of $500 million in senior unsecured notes. The company plans to use proceeds to partly finance its announced $2.1 billion acquisition of Champion Technologies. The existing ratings on Ecolab, including the 'BBB+' corporate credit, rating remain unchanged.
