Engineer Hunting rises as upbeat outlook defies sector woes
LONDON, July 1 - British engineer Hunting, which makes equipment for use in oil and gas wells, said it was benefiting from growing business in the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. oil shale industry, defying a trend of earnings disappointments in the sector.
Gibson Guitar to buy TEAC, add "Cool Japan" engineering technology
TOKYO, March 29 - Gibson Guitar, known for producing electric guitars used legendary rock guitarists such as Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, said on Friday that it was buying a majority share in Japanese audio equipment manufacturer TEAC Corp for 4.88 billion yen ($51.9 million).

LONDON, March 7 - British oil services firm Hunting reported a jump in 2012 profits but gave a cautious outlook for 2013, saying low prices were discouraging drilling for gas in the United States, shrinking the market for extraction services.
