Harvey Norman year net profit down 40 percent

MELBOURNE, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Harvey Norman Ltd , an Australian furniture and appliances retailer, reported a 40 percent fall in full-year net profit on Friday, in line with forecasts, and said it was cautiously optimistic for the future. The group said net profit was A$214.35 million ($179.8 million) in the year ended June 30. Analysts on average were expecting a profit of A$212.7 million, according to estimates tracker IBES.
