Russian miner Polymetal boosts H1 revenue 88 pct

MOSCOW, July 23 (Reuters) - Russian miner Polymetal boosted first-half revenue by 88 percent to $258 million on higher precious metal prices and the elimination of its hedge position on silver sales, the company said on Wednesday. Polymetal said in a statement gold production rose 20 percent year-on-year to 136,000 ounces in the first six months of 2008. Silver sales rose 11 percent to 8.8 million ounces.

Russian businessmen, Czech PPF acquire Polymetal

MOSCOW, June 16 (Reuters) - Polymetal , Russia's largest silver miner, said on Monday that a controlling stake in the company had been transferred to businessmen Alexander Nesis, Alexander Mamut and Czech investment fund PPF. The stake was sold by Aniketa Investments Ltd, which is controlled by Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov. Russia Polymetal Q1 2008 gold, silver output up

MOSCOW, April 21 (Reuters) - Polymetal , Russia's top silver miner, said on Monday its output of the metal rose by 32 percent in the first quarter of 2008 to 4.7 million ounces due to improved ore grades and increased ore extraction.
