Track Cycling
The Beijing Olympics cycling programme will include events that test cyclists' speed, endurance, individual and team tactics
BMX
Bicycle Moto Cross, or BMX as it is popularly known, will make its debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Riders compete eight at a time in a series of qualifying heats which will culminate into the finals where eight men and eight women will be vying for the very first Olympics BMX medals.
Road Cycling
At the first Olympic Games in Athens, 1896, road cycling was raced on the Marathon course, covering two laps totalling 87 km. Modern day athletes can cover three times the distance with their high-tech equipment.
