Aug 21 - Britain's Prime Minister has promised to put more resources into training the Afghan National Army.
Gordon Brown offered Afghanistan and extra 137 million dollars and said there might be a need to increase the size of the Army from 60,000 at present to more than 120,000.
Brown's visit comes at a time of an upsurge in violence and amid political uncertainty in neighbouring Pakistan following the resignation of President Pervez Musharraf.
