Oct. 17 - U.S. presidential rival candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain traded wisecracks instead of campaign attacks at a New York dinner.
The rivals in the White House race donned white ties for a more genial political tradition -- a New York fundraising dinner that has attracted presidential candidates in every election but two since 1945.
The evening of humour followed one night after the sharp exchanges in their final debate before the November 4 election.
