Nov. 19 - A daring Brazilian surfer broke his own record after riding a wave on an extra-long 30-foot surfboard for over ten seconds.
Although Rico de Souza had scheduled his display for Saturday, the 55-year-old surfer managed to accomplish the feat during a trial Monday. Fearing the large waves and stormy weather expected for Rio de Janeiro on Saturday, Souza decided to hold on to his test results which were recorded on camera.
In 2006, the legendary surfer broke the Guinness World Record by riding a wave on a 25.6-foot board but he faced several difficulties because the tip lacked bend.
