The high-spec DSLR for video lovers

Dec 24 - The world's largest digital camera maker Canon says the 'controversial' step of adding movie mode to its EOS 5D Mark II DSLR is paying off.

2008 was a significant year in the evolution of the camera. Not content to sit still while gadgets converge around the photography industry, camera manufacturers have come out with a fair few new offerings themselves.

There has been the micro-four thirds from Panasonic, which fits somewhere between a compact and a DSLR. Nikon was first to market with a video enabled DSLR - the D90. Canon replied with the 5D Mark II - a much higher spec camera that also shoots high definition video.
