May 4 - A bid for Australia's flagship airline Qantas Airways - the world's biggest airline buyout - hung in the balance on Friday.
Bidders reported a small rise in shareholder acceptances just hours ahead of a final deadline at 0900GMT.
The consortium, including Macquarie Bank said it had control of 35.6 percent of Qantas, but still well short of the 70 percent it needs to secure the airline for US$9.1 billion.
