May 04 - Richard Gasquet defeats local favourite Frederico Gil and Agustin Calleri advances tthe last eight at the Estoril Open tennis in Portugal.
Frenchman Richard Gasquet cruised into the quarter-finals with a 6-1 6-2 win over local favourite Frederico Gil on Thursday in Estoril.
Gasquet will now play American Vince Spadea, who overcame Frenchman Olivier Patience 2-6 6-3 6-4.
The 2003 Estoril Open runner-up Agustin Calleri reached the last eight after fellow Argentinian opponent Juan Martin del Potro retired with an injury.
