May 24 - As concerns in Darfur mount, Reuters assembled a panel including Sudan's UN Ambassador and a U.S. State Dept. representative to discuss potential solutions for the region.

The Reuters Newsmaker event, held in New York City on Thursday, sparked discussion about growing violence, the effectiveness of peacekeepers and the safety of aid workers.

Panelists also spoke about what must be done to narrow the differences between the US, UN and Khartoum to resolve the conflict.
