Jun. 29 - The suspect vehicle was parked in The Haymarket in the heart of London's West End theatre district

The device was found in the week that Gordon Brown succeeded Tony Blair as British Prime Minister. No further bombs have been found, and it's not clear at this stage who might be behind the failed attack. British counter-terrorism officers have foiled several plots to bomb the UK in recent years. Suicide bombers killed 52 commuters in attacks on London's transport network on July 7th, 2005.

Helen Long reports.
