Jul. 11 - Billions of rats escape flood waters in China.
Weeks of disasterous flooding in China have forced millions of rats and mice to seek higher - drier - ground. They're eating their way through crops that have escaped the water - authorities estimate two billion field mice are decimating crops in Hunan province. Farmers there have already killed 90 tonnes of rats, chasing them with ferrets into sacks and nets.
