The not-so-beautiful game

(00:43) Rough Cut

Jul 02 - Scotland hosts the World Cup of swamp soccer as nearly 50 international teams get stuck in to compete for the top prize.

The teams from all across the world converged onto the sticky, wet and mucky conditions of the Scottish plains.

The game sees a five-a-side size pitch, with all the grass removed gallons of water added, ideal conditions for the new extreme sport.

With names such as "Real Mudrid", "The Pre-Mudonnas", "Mudchester United" and "Swampdoria" the tournament was always going to be fun.

The two winning teams were FC Full Gunge in the Mens division and Topo Gunge in the Mixed division.
