Aug 15 - Customs and anti-smuggling officials in the Philippines have engaged in a bout of public car-wrecking of luxury vehicles worth almost 700,000 U.S. dollars.
The demonstration - Lincoln Navigator, three BMW X5 SUV's and a Mitsubishi GTO were battered by construction vehicles - was part of a drive against smuggling operations bringing undeclared luxury goods into Philippine ports.
Reuters correspondent Michaela Cabrera reports.
