Feb 7 - The recent slump of the U.S. dollar has been widely reported but in New York it's led to a surprising change - consumers are buying things in euros.
Several small businesses are accepting the euro as payment and it's proving more and more popular with customers.
Not long ago many people thought of the U.S. dollar as a universal currency.
At 1200 GMT on Wednesday (February 6) the euro was worth 1.46 U.S. dollars.
