Feb. 14 - After weeks of violence, residents of Nairobi are in the mood for love as they prepare to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Recent ethnic clashes in Naivasha, the key flower-producing town, threatened Kenya's flower industry in the period leading up to Valentine's Day, as farmers fled their fields. But at a street market in the capital Nairobi, flower stall owners were busy preparing gift baskets and bunches of red roses.
Post-election violence in Kenya has left more than 1,000 people dead and displaced at least 304,000, according to figures released by the Kenyan Red Cross.
