Giant dolls take to the streets

(01:00) Rough Cut

Mar. 24 - Annual carnival brings a world of fantasy to Belgium town.

They call themselves the 'Dream Smugglers' and every year they bring their world of fantasy to the small Belgian town of Jemappes, in the Walloon region.

A spot of snow was not enough to stop the 4-day Jemappes carnival which has been going on for more than a century.

In total ten different floats, each with their own theme, march through the streets including an African collection complete with beating drums, a giant butterfly and a strange looking insect built by students from Belgium's prestigious La Cambre art school or 'ecole superieure'.

The jewel in the crown of the parade is the huge ogre: 12 metres long, 8 metres wide and weighing more than 100 kilos.
